Joey Walker's Bio:

Hey I’m Joey Walker from MOViN 100.3/96.5. I’
ve lived in Syracuse all my life and love it here!  Growing up I always had a love for radio and attended Onondaga Community College for Electronic Media Broadcasting. In Spring ’07 I joined MOViN as an intern which eventually lead me to my current positon…being on-air is a dream come true! A few years ago I was nominated in The NewTimes’ “Best of Syracuse Reader’s Poll” for “Best Radio Personality” and “Media Personality in Need of a Makeover”. Syracusans voted…and yes I won! O.K., so it was for needing a makeover, which I did get! When not on-air, you can find me playing the guitar and watcing sports…I’m a huge Boston Red Sox’s fan!  I also enjoy hangin out at local clubs and bars around CNY and meeting different people! I aslo spend alot of time at home with my amazing wife Tiffany. Listen to me weekdays on MOViN 100.3/96.5 from 6am-10am w/ my crazy partner Heather Daley!  We are a perfect match in the morning and we will def make your morning very.....lets say hmmm "interesting."

Heather's Bio:

Hi there… I started out my radio career while attending SUNY Brockport, at a station in Rochester, WPXY. I began as an intern for both the morning show and in promotions. Eventually got a paid postion within the promotions department and has been my forte ever since. When I moved back to Syracuse, I not only worked in radio around town but also decided to take classes at Bryant & Stratton to further my web skills and graphic design. I came over to MOViN in January of 2007 to do a number of things within the office but left in ’08 to explore other opportunities.  But when the opportunity arose to come back and do the morning show and promotions, I couldn’t say no. I started with Skip, and now I'm with Crazy Joey.  I absolutely LOVE what I’m doing and love working with Joey who not only is a great mentor but an awesome friend (and shall I say “work companion”)… Together we make a great team!

Some of my favs: 80′s hair bands, laughing, margaritas, pictures, SU

bball, camping, rainbow cookies, jet skiing, Blue Moon with an orange slice, cliches & catchphrases, singing in cars, live music, Home Network tv, water no lemon, road trips, reality shows, movie quoting, fishing, new recipes, dancing, puppies (but I can’t leave out my lovely cat Julius), rollercoasters, shopping, and of course my friends, family and BF… and did I mention I’m one heck of a DERBY GIRL!

You know you're from Syracuse when...
Had a great conversation with Melissa Joan Hart today! Remember, her new show is on tonight on ABC called Melissa & Joey... yes starring our teen idol, Joey Lawrence!

So we told you this morning.... You know you're from Syracuse when:

1.) You are an SU fan even if you've never gone to school there.
2.) Snow in May is a common occurrence...in fact, it's sometimes expected.
3.) The Carousel Mall is by far the best mall in all of Upstate NY...no ifs, ands, or buts.
4.) You look forward to Skippy's ice cream every summer
5.) You have been bombarded with HUGEEEE commercials for years
6.) You went to the Erie Canal museum for field trips in elementary school.
7.) You have a great time at the New York State Fair every year riding the rides, eating the junk food, getting "real" milk from the dairy building, and waiting in extremely long lines for parking.
8.) You remember when Shoppingtown was such a cool place to go without parents when you were a teenager
9.) You wonder when Destiny USA will ever be finished and how much will it REALLY help the economy?
10.) Coleman's is the hot spot on St. Patrick's Day because of the green beer they serve that day.
11.) You know never to swim in Onondaga Lake
12.) You never really appreciated Lights on the Lake until, ironically, you were older.
13.) Parking in downtown is a disaster but once you find a spot it's totally worth it for all of the cool restaurants and stores.
14.) You have walked across the freezing cold quad during a blizzard just to see a SU basketball game.
15.) No matter who you are, or what part of Syracuse or the surrounding areas you are from, if you see someone sporting a Syracuse shirt or hat you already like them.
16.) You've become accustomed to shoveling snow late at night to avoid getting snowed in the next morning.
17.) You've mentioned that Richard Gere and Alec Baldwin are both from Syracuse.
18.) You've spent many a Saturday at the Farmer's Market getting fresh fruits and veggies.
19.) You remember when CompUSA was in the basement of Carousel along with Kahunaville.
20.) Speaking of Carousel, you've always wondered what the 4th and 5th floor of Carousel are used for.

No matter where you move to, Syracuse will always feel like home no matter what anyone else says about it!

A heads up for ya.... probably saw the tease on our website but YES, we do have tickets to give away very soon to see SNOOP DOGG at CMAC...... listen to win!

Tomorrow is our 9-2-5 Thursday... giving away EVERYTHING in our prize closet! Get your name in the mix by signing up online.

Why We NEED A Saved By The Bell Reunion!

12 Reasons Why It’s Absolutely Essential That There Is a ‘Saved by the Bell’ Reunion:

1. We need to find out whether or not Screech and Violet ever got to second base.

2. Zack Morris set a trend by having what may have been the world's first cell phone. Aren’t you curious to see if he now uses an iPhone or a Droid?

3. You know you want to hear about the crazy scam Zack pulled to get Slater’s father out of being deployed to Afghanistan.

4. You thought Jessie was excited when she popped too many pills? Imagine how excited viewers will be.

5. If Lisa really is so fashionable, maybe she convinced Screech to stop wearing parachute pants from the rejected MC Hammer collection.

6. We can find out if Jeff is still the manager at The Max. He deserves to stay in that job, the way he treated Kelly. What a slimeball.

7. Admit it – your life will be much better off if you can just once more hear Mr. Belding say, “Hey, hey, hey. What is going on here?”

8. Catfight – Jessie and Kelly versus Tori! Finally!

9. We want to know if Zack patented the “time-out” trick only he seems to have mastered. Out of all his hair-brained schemes, this seems like the best one he could’ve followed up on to make a fortune.

10. Rumor has it Valley is getting a reality show. Bayside can’t let their biggest rival upstage them.

11. ‘The College Years,’ ‘The New Class’… ‘Saved By the Bell’ needs to right its wrongs.

12. It would sure beat a 'California Dreams' reunion.

Join us at the AIDS Community Resources 20th Annual Walk/Run @ Beaver Lake on June 3rd. "Every Step Makes A Difference"

Tomorrow we continue to clean out the prize closet with MOVIN's 9-2-5 ;)

How Common Is Your Birthday?

Shape-Ups are a Sham!
News flash: you can't work out by not working out. As predicted, the Federal Trade Commission has settled with shoemaker Skechers over claims that their rounded-bottom Shape-Up shoes helped wearers to tone their lower-body muscles and lose weight.
According to the FTC, there were a few problems: first, the studies didn't prove what the good doctor claimed, he just happens to be the spouse of a Skechers marketing executive, and the company paid for that not-so-independent study.

In the future, Skechers can't make claims about any of the following in their athletic shoe ads unless they're backed up with actual research:

  • claims about strengthening;
  • claims about weight loss; and
  • claims about any other health or fitness-related benefits from toning shoes, including claims regarding caloric expenditure, calorie burn, blood circulation, aerobic conditioning, muscle tone, and muscle activation
Forbes Celebrity 100:
Forbes revealed its annual Celebrity 100 list... and J.Lo lands in the top spot for 2012 -- booting Lady Gaga, who claimed the title in 2011!

We'll be out and about this weekend!
Saturday... join us @ Universe Cellular & Dish on the corner of Bear & Rt. 11.  Of course we'll have some prizes to win but they've also got some great deals going on that you have to check out.  We'll be there from 11-1p.

Tomorrow we hook up a couple listeners with new "Got MOVIN!?" t's, courtesy of D&B Sportwear... listen to win!
